Before Australia was discovered which was the biggest island in the world?

Australia, just because it wasn't 'discovered' doesn't mean it wasn't there!

A soldier is stationed on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. He writes to his wife and asks her for something to keep his mind occupied and off all the beautiful island women. His wife suggests that he learns to play a musical instrument and sends him a harmonica.
A year later the soldier finally goes home and says, ‘Honey, I’m so love-starved, I think we should go to bed right now!’
‘Of course dear,’ she says. ‘But first, play me sa tune on the harmonica.’

A cruise ship passes a small pacific island and everyone watches as a bearded ragged looking man runs out onto the beach and starts waving his hands and screaming at them. ‘Who’s that?’ asks one of the passengers. ‘I’ve no idea,’ replies the captain. ‘But he does that everytime we sail past.’

Some US marines are stranded on an island after the war. A few months pass and the sergeant decides he has to do something to boost moral.
‘Good news, men,’ he says, ‘We’re going to have a change of underwear.’
It’s not a lot but at least the marines are cheered up. The sergeant continues, ‘Riley you change with Peterson. Peterson you change with Jones…’
